Aaliyah and Ramada, a dynamic mother-daughter duo, recently shared their inspiring journey of pursuing associate and bachelor’s degrees together at Georgia Military College!
The decision to pursue their degrees at GMC was born out of a shared desire for personal growth and academic achievement. Last Spring, Aaliyah, the daughter, obtained her Pre-Nursing associate degree while Ramada, the mother, obtained associate degrees in both Pre-Nursing and Criminal Justice from GMC-Main Campus. Both ladies are currently enrolled at GMC’s Global Online Leadership College, where Aaliyah is working on a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, and Ramada is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Looking beyond college, both have ambitious plans. They aim to leverage their education and skills to make meaningful contributions in their respective fields, aspiring to positively impact their communities. They state, “We understand the difficulties and significance of our journey as Black women pursuing higher education. As a mother-daughter team navigating our college journey together, our proudest moments are deeply intertwined with our shared experiences and achievements. From celebrating academic milestones to walking the graduation aisle together, our journey has been filled with moments of mutual support, encouragement, and growth. Seeing each other thrive in our respective fields of study and witnessing the personal and intellectual growth we’ve undergone together has been immensely gratifying. As we continue our college journey, we cherish these moments of triumph and look forward to many more to come. We embrace our identities and celebrate our resilience, knowing that our success in higher education is a testament to our strength, determination, and unwavering commitment to excellence.” We are so proud of you both, and wish you luck as you continue your education with GMC!
